RED MOUNTAIN HIKE
Red Mountain #3 at 12,890' is the highest of the three Red Mountain Peaks located between Ouray and Silverton Colorado. The hike to the summit is approximately 5.5 miles with an elevation gain of around 2282'. This hike is on a road that passes the Carbon Lake Mine and crosses tundra slopes before switchbacking steeply up to the summit. The view from the summit is absolutely incredible!
